The theme for LTC8 was Inspiring Students to Develop Their Full Potential and our aim was to provide an intellectually stimulating and practically useful event for teaching and teaching/student-support staff to share best practice, and to motivate and be motivated by each other. Inspiring students to get the best from their time at Leeds encompasses all aspects of learning and teaching and student support, such as creating exciting research experiences linked to teaching, providing effective assessment and feedback, making the most of physical and virtual teaching/learning environments, using outcomes from projects that have developed innovative and relevant best practice, and tailoring support to the needs of the student.
Keynote speakers
Aaron Porter, President of the National Union of Students, delivered the LTC8 morning keynote and examined how, from a student perspective, we can best serve and inspire our students and what qualities they should expect to leave Leeds with.
The afternoon keynote session was delivered by Nigel Foster and Judith Owens from Ove Arup & Partners. Nigel and Judith's session will focused on what employers look for in new graduates and whether Leeds equips its students with those skills and qualities.
